Leanne and Jerritt had a stunning garden wedding at Oatlands Historic House & Gardens. The day was simple but full of elegance. Leanne’s jaw dropping satin gown with rhinestone encrusted faux back had her looking like a gorgeous jewel next do Jerritt’s dress whites. The day ended with dinner in the beautiful carriage house, a part of Oatland’s venue that doesn’t often get used, due to the small guest capacity, but was just perfect for this intimate celebration. Take a peek!
Christine and Paul are a breath of fresh air. A totally devoted couple.
They traveled from Virginia Beach to one of Christine’s favorite places, Leesburg, for an adorable wedding at the historic courthouse. I’d only talked to them on the phone prior to the wedding so I was super excited and anxious to meet them on the day of the wedding. It was a gorgeous afternoon and Paul came walking up with his father, huge smile on his face. You could tell he was over the moon about getting married in a few minutes.Soon we were joined by a few grandparents, aunts and uncles, and Christine’s parents and together everyone set up the video conference call on Paul’s phone so that the family and friends far away could attend the wedding via cyberspace.
The ceremony was simple & sweet and perfectly “them”. I was moved by their devotion to one another. After the ceremony there were some celebratory family photos and then we did a portrait session with just the two of them. Christine & Paul’s silly and fun loving personalities came out and we had a blast photographing in downtown Leesburg. Check out some of their fun day below!
Rachel & Robert are a sweet couple from Vermont that decided to do a destination wedding in Westminster, Maryland at the historic Union Mills Homestead as a central place for all their family and friends to gather and celebrate their devotion to one another. They even brought their senior fur-baby, Peanut, to celebrate their big day! I was thoroughly impressed with the casual elegance of every detail. The whole family pitched in making the bouquets and centerpieces, setting up all the details, Rachel even made and decorated her own cake and Robert brewed all the beer, cider, and mead for the reception! Check out all the beauty below!
This engagement session was truly one for the memory books! Dawn and Steven loved their wedding venue, Gramercy Mansion so much that they decided to do their engagement photos there. Knowing just how beautiful and expansive the grounds are there, I had absolutely no complaints! Those grounds are a photographer’s dream! Pair that with a couple that is madly in love and it’s a recipe for engagement session perfection. That is, until, Mother Nature decided to intervene. We thought we might skirt the rain and get it in before the session but nope! It was pouring! Thunder, Lightning, the works. Thankfully, Dawn and Steven had a great sense of humor about the whole thing and were happy to photograph inside the mansion. After all, there was plenty of room! Well, in the middle of shooting inside, the power decides to go out! Ack! Thank goodness I have battery operated lights to work with! While it’s not my “typical” style to utilize studio lighting for an engagement shoot, I was thrilled with the dramatic results! It matched the drama and elegance of the venue and was a perfect compliment to the romance between Dawn & Steven. Take a peek at the photos below!
There’s something so magical about a perfect city wedding and Stephanie and David nailed it at Arlington’s Hotel Le Meridien. Vibrant blues & pinks accented their rooftop patio ceremony (complete with beautiful views of Georgetown) and their intimate reception in the Amuse Restaurant. To top it all off, Steph & David are a stunning couple, filled to the brim with admiration for each other. Love radiated from them and their families as they danced the night away.
