Natalie and John could not have picked a more perfect or beautiful day to get married. The Piedmont Club was such a stunning venue, which provided an amazing backdrop for some unforgettable photos.H & M Unveiled did a wonderful job with Natalie’s hair and make-up. Royalty Flowers, Wanda’s Cakes and A2Z Music Factory were just a few other vendors that pulled together to make this such a special day for Natalie and John.
Emily and Jeff had a classic DC wedding in Georgetown at Grace Episcopal Church and followed it up at the historic City Tavern Club just around the corner. Emily’s dress was her mothers (cue sentimental tears here!) that was customized with a lace top and sleeves just for her. After a heartfelt ceremony incorporating Christian and Jewish traditions, we continued the night with dinner and dancing to the amazing sounds of one of DC’s hottest bands The Bachelor Boys.
When I first met Lisa, we clicked instantly. It was rather uncanny the amount of things we had in common, so when she gave me the official word that she wanted me to be her wedding photographer for her winter wedding at the Regency at Dominion Valley. The wedding was filled with beautiful details of purple. Bridesmaids dresses, family heirloom rings, flowers, everything! It was a perfect compliment to the holiday decor all around for the month of December. Oddly enough, for a December wedding, Mother Nature decided to throw us a curve ball and give us a gloriously beautiful day (which I was thankful for so we could take advantage of the beautiful grounds around the venue)! After a heartfelt first look, we wandered around the grounds and had a great time taking photos before joining the bridal party and family to commemorate their part in Lisa & Jonathan’s day. The ceremony was full of happy tears all around and when Lisa’s bridesmaids gathered together and sang a cappella for the couple, there were more tears. Such beautiful signing! After a celebratory cocktail hour, the couple entered into a reception to a standing ovation. Then, Lisa brought down the house with a surprise rendition of Nora Jones’ “Come Away With Me” to serenade her groom. I was in absolute awe of of her angelic voice and thank goodness for auto focus because she moved me (and everyone else in the room) to tears. The love these two have is deep and it was an absolutely privilege to photograph for them.
When Bailey and Chris first contacted me about their Halloween wedding at Oatlands Plantation, I may or may not have jumped with joy. What a cool idea! I’d never done a Halloween wedding before and I couldn’t wait to see what they (along with Waverly Road Events) had planned. Bailey insisted that it would be more of an “elegant” Halloween vs. a “cheesy” Halloween and I think they pulled it off. She wore the most adorable striped orange tights that complimented Chris’ striped orange socks and accessories and she even wore a custom made cape when it got cooler in the evening! (Seriously, how cool is that?!) Some of the guests got in on the fun by dressing up and the kids that attended were entertained by a game of Trick or Treat (table to table of course)! They incorporated black chairs and linens and hand made paper flowers for the tables from old scary story books. Chris’ boutineer was made from extra fabric from Bailey’s dress and Bailey had hand made flowers as well. Chef’s Table catering had a signature cocktail from a “boiling cauldron” for guests to enjoy and a candy corn inspired orange ombre cake topped off everyone’s night deliciously.
Haley & Keith shared a personal and intimate ceremony among their closest friends and family at the Carlyle Club in Alexandria last Fall. The art deco themed club was the perfect spot for their event with vintage flair and style. I adored Haley’s custom beaded bolero and thought Keith had some serious swagger in his top hat. The blue and silver decor was a stunning and vibrant color palette that carried through to an absolutely stunning cake. Sweetface Events was on site to ensure every last little detail was perfect (and it was)!
