When I put out a call for models for our styled shoot, I was thrilled when our former bride & groom Jaime & Bobby answered. We had such a wonderful time with getting to know them at their wedding—(and later with Jaime’s Pampered Chef business!) that it was great to get to see them all dolled up again. Belle Soeur did a beautifully classic inspired hair do, complete with a romantic flower pin from The Flirty Blossom. Jaime also modeled matching “floating” teardop earrings (with white AND yellow diamonds, oooh la la!) to the floating teardrop necklace and vintage inspired engagement ring by Mangan Jewelers. Shelley’s Floral Enterprise made a most gorgeous Autumn inspired bouquet to compliment the turning leaves of October.
My gorgeous friend Catherine, posed for us in another installment of our Styled Shoot series. She’s modeling a most stunning vintage lace, trumpet gown as well as a show stopping beaded & silk ballgown (with a train for miles!) from Curvaceous Couture in Columbia, MD. Let me tell you, those ladies up at Curvaceous Couture sure do know how to make high style happen for women with curves! Catherine also got to model some sparkly, cascading diamond earrings and a most unique “floating” diamond teardop necklace from Mangan Jewelers in McLean, VA. I’ve never seen a necklace quite like this one. The diamonds in the teardop have absolutely no settings. They’re “frozen” into a perfectly clear polymer of sorts and just sit there suspended. Just jaw dropping! Last, but certainly not least, Shelley’s Floral Enterprise provided the gorgeous cabbage rose and gardenia bouquet which was the perfect match of elegance and romanticism for this classic venue at Murray Hill in Leesburg, VA.
So today’s post is a continuation of showing off some of the FAB fun we had with our styled shoot at Murray Hill in Leesburg, VA. Emily & Karl (a super cute, most awesome couple) provided their good looks and fun personality. Christi Lopez at Bergeron’s Flowers made the MOST unique, awesome, coolest bouquet and boutineer I have ever seen. The pink roses with the brooches, jewels, and yes, FEATHERS matched the spunk of the dress from Annalee’s Formals to a “T”. The gorgeous periodot necklace, cascading diamond earings and rings were provided by Mangan Jewelers in McLean, VA. We couldn’t have had more fun with this shoot! A huge thanks to everyone involved.
Wow! So I finally did it; started my photo blog. I’ve wrestled with starting a blog for years now, never really having a good answer for the question “Why don’t you have a blog?” so I have finally gotten my act together and made it happen! Here’s hoping I can share all sorts of beautiful moments, ideas, and insight that we’ve gather as we make our way in the wild world of the photography business.
As for a topic for my first post, I couldn’t think of a better one to start with than one of our biggest endeavors, ever! I have always wanted to do a “styled” shoot. Get hair and makeup, dress vendors, flower vendors all on board with some fabulous models at a great location and just have some photo fun. Well in October 2011, with the help of some absolutely AMAZING vendors, I was able to do just that!
You’ll find a few of my favorites from our shoot with model (and fellow photographer!) Ali. We photographed her in the beautiful loaction of Murray Hill; a gorgeous estate in Leesburg, VA that the owner, Peggy Rust, was gracious enough to let us use. Shelley’s Floral Enterprise provided the flowers which I just love. The bouquet is so “vintage” and fits perfectly with Ali’s personal wedding dress, even echoing the shape of the crystal embelishments at the waist. I found the vintage inspired birdcage veil at a cute little bridal shop in Butler, PA (while visiting family) called Nicole’s Bridal Boutique. Though Ali’s neclace & bracelet were her own, her earrings and rings are from local McLean, VA jeweler Tom Mangan of Mangan Jewelers. Last, but certainly not least, the super fab ladies at Belle Soeur Styles were the awesome hair stylists and makeup artists for the entire photo shoot.
