Today’s Vendor Spotlight is all about the lovely Jacquelyn Rodriguez of Enlightened Styles. She’s an amazing hair and makeup artist based out of Warrenton, VA. Here’s what she had to say!
Q: How did you get your start in weddings?
A: I have always loved being a part of the wedding process. With starting my own business, I was now able to travel to the bride and offer way more than just your typical salon appointment.
Q: Why did you want to be involved in weddings?
A: I love being a part of that wonderful and exciting day! Bringing all of my products and equipment on-site for the bride makes it that much better because the bridal party can really relax and enjoy the day and that’s what every bride’s wedding day should be like.
Q: What is one unique thing that your business brings to the table?
A: I think that I am different from most stylist because it’s not just about giving you great hair and make-up, it really is about teaching you how to do that daily so that you can go out and feel unstoppable every day. And I just launched my own makeup line that helps every women get the perfect match by custom blending your foundation and lipstick right in the salon.
Q: Describe your favorite type of client.
A: I love working with so many people! I would have to say my favorite would have to be the ones that value what I can show them. Knowing that having the right style can make your day and give you the confidence to take on the world.
Q: What wedding, that you’ve done, stands out to you the most and why?
A: I truly have been so blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life that there are so many moments that are special. I just look forward to being a part of many more weddings.
Q: What inspires you?
A: Life inspires me, knowing that I can make a difference and show my kids that we can be strong, happy, and confident!
Q: what are the top services that your business offers?
A: I specialize in wedding hair and makeup. I also provide color, cut and traditional salon services. I just launched my own makeup line that is all custom blended for each person so you get a perfect match foundation and lipstick every time.
Q: What is your best piece of advice for couples?
A: I would have to say the most important thing is honesty and trust.
Q: What is your most frequently asked question?
A: Will our hair and makeup last all night? Through extensive training I have learned special tricks to keep your hair and makeup lasting all night.
Q: What is a realistic budget for your services?
A: I would budget around $950 for a bride and a bridal party of 3 for full on-site hair and makeup.
Q: In regard to the category of Hair and Makeup, what is the most important piece of information you wished clients knew?
A: Don’t wait until the end of the wedding planning process to think about hair and makeup. To make sure you get a stylist you really feel comfortable with you want to start early, around 6-12 months out.
