Lessons Learned: A Bride's Perspective from Katie

Our second installment of Lessons Learned: A Bride’s Perspective from Katie. Katie married her sweetheart Hans in an elegant Fall, garden wedding at Raspberry Plain in Leesburg, VA. Here are her thoughts:

Describe your wedding.

A: It was a day dedicated to celbrating our love, with the people we love & care about the most. It was the most beautiful day of our lives (so far)!

Q: What was your favorite part of the day?

A: Walking down the aisle to my groom.

Q:  What was Hans’ favorite part?

A: He tells me “seeing my bride walk down the aisle”. (Swoon!)

Q: What was the hardest part about planning your wedding?

A: The hardest part for me was being able to visualize something in my head and making it come to live on the day of. I am a very visual person, so I needed people like my florist & hairstylist to physically show me what I would see on the big day.

Q: What did you learn that you wished you had known?

A: Don’t rush any decisions. Take your time. Make sure the decisions you make are coming from you and your partner. Don’t allow friends and family to make decisions for you. It’s your day!

Q: What was the most unexpected part of your day?

A: How quickly it went!

Any other wisdom to share?

A: Take time to eat. This is something we didn’t do. When we got back to the hotel afterwards we were both exhausted and starving. Not a good combination to kick off the wedding night!
