Lessons Learned: A Bride's Perspective from Megan

This week’s Lesson’s Learned comes from one of my absoutely most favorite weddings ever! Megan & Sam (and their families) completely rocked this wedding! Every detail was beautiful, every person there was amazing, kind, loving, and supportive of Meg & Sam, and the love these two had for eachother made me all sorts of choked up. Take a peek at what Megan had to say about her day.

Your Wedding Date: 9.14.13
Wedding Venue:
Oatlands Plantation
Describe Your Wedding: Outdoor, vintage, garden

What was your favorite part of your day?:

A: Walking down to aisle and seeing Sam’s face.

Q: What was your partner’s favorite part?

A: The first dance.

Q: What was the hardest thing about planning your wedding?

A: Putting together all of the little details at the end, such as timeline of the big day and making sure everyone one needed to be where they were needed. It really helped to have a day of coordinator to make sure everything ran smoothly.

Q: What did you learn that you wished you had known?

A: A budget is very important to start with! You must have a budget before planning anything.

Q: What was the most unexpected part of the day?

A: The garter toss! Sam went to wallmart the morning of and bought womens panties 10 sizes too big for me! He pulled those out instead of my garter…

Q: Any other wisdom to share?

A: Again I would emphasize starting with a budget everyone is comfortable with before planning anything else! I would also recommened trying your best to eat something at your reception, we ended up eating a few appetizers but that’s it! Have your caterer pack some food up for you or make sure your hotel room afterwards has something for you to eat at the end of a VERY long day!
